Patented silicone technology: two strengths combined
Innovation in wound care: faster healing, easier to use
January 27 – 30 2025, Dubai World Trade Centre – Zabeel Hall 3, Stand Z3.B14 | Freudenberg Performance Materials has developed a new wound dressing that supports the healing of chronic wounds and is easy to use. It sets new standards with its innovative combination of silicone and polyurethane foam.
Maintaining a moist environment, ease of application and good adaptation to the wound bed are now regarded as clinical requirements for a modern wound dressing. Polyurethane foam dressings have an established position in wound care today. They are known for being absorbent, conformable and soft to the touch. Silicone foam dressings are typically used on shallow, slightly to moderately exuding wounds. The conventional laminar approach often found in market-leading products is at odds with the intimate contouring of the dressing to the wound bed. In recent years, there has also been a trend towards using relatively strong silicone formulations to ensure longer wear times. The wound can be damaged again when the dressing is changed. Intimate contouring of the wound bed is often attributed to dressings based on hydroactive fiber technology.
Wave structure for optimum balance
With our patented silicone technology, the silicone adhesive is directly coated in the form of a pattern. Perfection in wound bed contouring is a result of this uniqe technology. The dual silicone design also reduces stress on the wound edges and prevents damage to new epithelial tissue. Freudenberg's patented silicone technology offers a functionality that combines all the advantages.
Advantages for nursing staff and patients
The new wound dressing takes comfort and efficiency to a new level - a step forward for nursing staff and patients alike.
Not only will the new generation of silicone foam dressings be presented at this trade fair, but also the new MDI-based PU foams for improved fluid absorption, flexible superabsorbers, debridement foams, laminates, activated carbon filters and elastic backings for wearable devices.
